Its not as big as Pratunam in Bangkok but things are cheap and they have all the stuff a traveler could need including souvenirs etc.

Aside of lazing on the beach, visiting restaurants and other things to do in Phuket, shopping probably has the most temptations and it makes some sense since all not imported item are quite low priced. Most people coming on vacation to the island need another suitcase when they leave.

If you want to do a beach hopping just rent a car or a motor bike and go, be very careful with the motor bike, since nobody takes traffic rules serious. From time to time beach parties erupt  but not of a scale like at Ko Phangan.. After a day in the water, relax at the hotel bar or do a bar hopping along Bangla Boad at Patong.
